Set of two original vintage Spanish chairs designed by Børge Mogensen for Frederica Stolefabrik. Mogensen was inspired by traditional chairs he came across during a trip to Spain. The chairs he encountered were based on ancient Islamic culture and featured wide armrests and slightly titled backs. Mogensen redesigned he chair, but reatined them most important feature: the broad armrests that give the chair its character and provide a practical place to put a glass or cup. The final result was a stunning design which instantly became a design icon. The combination of saddle leather and oak make for a timeless design, bound to make a statement in any contempary interior.
Børge Mogensen was both a skilled furniture maker, architect and designer. Combined with his exceptional talent for simple and functional design, he grew into a decisive figure in Danish Modern Design.
